Alina Zamanova is a Ukrainian artist based in Kyiv. Her paintings are centred around the representation of modern reality, where women’s bodies are embraced in all shapes and focused to portray their distortions without societal norms labelled on them. The concepts that the artist investigates involve human relationships and hidden stereotypical behaviours, how societal norms’ ability distort the perception of our existence and views on our bodies. Zamanova is recently documenting the war in her home, in Ukraine, responding to the heroic but at the same time horrible scenes from occupied cities where our Ukrainian people are protecting the freedom and future. The artist is dedicating all her energy to make sure that Ukrainian souls are forever engraved in her artworks and in our memories. Zamanova's work has been displayed at numerous exhibitions across the world, including the Chrome Hearts Gallery space during Art Basel Miami 2021, Daniel Raphael Gallery in London,The Art Vacancy Gallery in New York City, Somerset House and SHOW studio in London. The artist is still in Ukraine and living and working in a safe place. Courtesy of the Artist
