Thomas’s training as a photographer has made him keenly interested in the idea of ‘perspective’ as a conceptual artist, and how materials can be used to affect what and how the viewer sees. He applies this technique to the perspective of Black and white, and employs the transient quality of the lenticular print to express the illusory aspect between the two colors. He incorporates text as a direct means of communication between himself and viewer. The work is also expressed in monochromes. As the viewer passes in front of the material, the color and the text move in gradients of Black and white.
