Joshua Griffit is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Israeli art. After studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, he developed a distinctive visual language that combines realistic figures with abstract textures. In collage-like compositions that resemble intimate stages, he combines light, fragments, and hints to create a poetic visual language that always thrives on the element of surprise. The painting “Leopard” (2009) shows the animal as a powerful yet enigmatically calm presence. Griffit places the leopard in an atmospherically dense space, where subtle colour transitions and precise light accents emphasise its elegance. The composition invites an encounter — exclusive, intense, full of quiet tension.
