Johanna Dumet, born in Guéret, France, in 1991, is considered an up-and-coming figure in contemporary painting. After studying applied arts and fashion design, she devoted herself entirely to the visual arts and now lives in Berlin. Her works combine traditional techniques such as oil, oil pastels, and charcoal sketches with bold colours, playful patterns, and an ironic examination of luxury and consumer aesthetics. The work presented here brings together Dumet’s characteristic style: opulent forms, bright areas of colour, and a subtle interplay between figuration and abstraction create a scene full of sensuality and subtle irony.
