Reiner Allgeier, born 1989 in Freiburg, lives and works as an artist, illustrator, and lawyer in Berlin. His work was most recently shown in a group exhibition at the 032c Gallery in Berlin in 2025. He is interested in the effectiveness of timeless symbols, language, and mythology. The references that appear in his works draw on a wide variety of eras, from ancient spiritual motifs to images from sports, film, and media. The watercolours of marble busts take up the ancient practice of copying and studying classical sculptures and, by embedding them in found frames, further blur the line between original and reproduction.
