Stefanie Hering, born in Stuttgart in 1967, is a German ceramic artist and designer. Her passion for design and craftsmanship has positioned her creations at the forefront of contemporary design. In her artistic work, she explores the formal possibilities of various materials and techniques, often in dialogue with other cultures and artists. With “Equinox I”, Hering presents her first collaboration with Austrian artist Hans Weigand: a strictly limited collector’s box (edition of 24) contains six large-format plates made of fine porcelain biscuit, featuring motifs from Weigand’s iconic woodcuts – waves, surfers, fragments of houses, symbols of a world steeped in myth and unrest. An artistic ensemble of material poetry and graphic intensity that exemplarily combines design, craftsmanship, and contemporary imagery.
